BaptistCare is a leading not-for-profit aged care, retirement living and community housing provider. Planix Projects were engaged as the Project Manager to work closely with key stakeholders, including the Residential and Maintenance Manager. The projects also involved engaging expert consultants including Architects, acoustic designers and fire engineers.

Cooinda Court is a Residential Aged Care facility that features two internal courtyards and offers 68 single bed rooms. Planix Projects were engaged to manage the following projects:

• Thermal detector upgrade – All common area smoke detectors required upgrading to meet the needs of the facility.

• Kitchen redesign – The Cooinda kitchen was upgraded to increase usability. This project involved providing temporary kitchen services whilst the project was constructed to ensure the facility could continue to run without disruption.

• Bathroom re-design – BaptistCare offers aging in place, consequently a portion of the bathrooms at Cooinda Court required re-design to enable greater access for carers and equipment to move through bathroom spaces.
