The Lake Haven Masonic Village is Residential Aged Care Facility in Lake Haven owned by the Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution. The village includes 158 independent living units and a single-storey Residential Aged Care Facility comprising 65 bedrooms. The Lake Haven Village Upgrade project is focused on refurbishment of the RACF.

The key features of the upgrade include reconfiguration of the main entry to create a vibrant environment incorporating a café, hairdresser/beautician and craft room, the addition of 6 bedrooms and refurbishment of the kitchen including chef’s office, cool room and servery that has the capacity to service the entire facility.

Planix Projects is providing project management services to the RFBI including management of the due diligence study to ensure the key constraints are identified and addressed in the Concept Design at an early stage.

The key challenge – excepting the need to keep the residential care facility running with minimal disruption – is enhancing the functionality and operation of the existing building while delivering value for money outcomes for the residents, staff and the RFBI. Planix Projects chaired Concept Design and stakeholder workshops with the RFBI to assist with the development of the design and ensure our client’s experience, knowledge and vision for the project flows through into the design.
