The Manilla Express was enthusiastic in its praise, reporting on an open day at the new Manilla Multipurpose Service under the heading: “Magnificent! Fantastic! What a great facility!”
The redevelopment included 20 new residential care bedrooms, complete with ensuites. A new lounge, dining and activities rooms for residents. A temporary two-bay emergency department, a secure landscaped sensory garden for residential care patients and balconies off the eastern wings of the facility that provide views over the neighbouring rivers and valley.
The Manilla Multipurpose Service also included new office space and staff rooms, industrial kitchen and a new loading dock area. 12 new acute care rooms, new front entrance with covered drop-off point and a birthing suite with in-room bath. A new permanent two-bay emergency department was redeveloped with a more private entrance. The facility also included new clinic rooms for Manilla GPs and visiting specialists and new treatment rooms and work areas for community health services.
Additionally, a large, secure landscaped courtyard and a four-bedroom self-contained staff accommodation complex.
