The redevelopment improved the quality of health care and enable efficiencies in the delivery of services within the hospital.

The project featured a new and expanded Emergency Department, purpose- built Children’s Emergency Unit, a new emergency short stay unit and expanded high-dependency and intensive care, as well as general medical and surgical inpatient capacity.

The redevelopment included hospital refurbishments, with works concentrating on creating a new accessibility friendly pedestrian and traffic zone linking the hospital main entry.
