The Manilla Express was enthusiastic in its praise, reporting on the open day at the new Manilla Multipurpose Service (MPS) under the heading: “Magnificent! Fantastic! What a great facility!”
The Manilla MPS project involved retaining the existing Manilla district hospital services whilst building the new MPS. The project was subsequently delivered in two stages. The Manilla MPS building received the following new facilities:

• Twenty new residential care bedrooms with ensuites
• New lounge, dining and activities rooms for residents
• Secure landscaped sensory garden for residential care patients
• Twelve new acute care rooms
• New front entrance with covered drop-off point
• New birthing suite, with in-room bath
• New permanent two-bay emergency department
• Clinic rooms
• Treatment rooms and work areas for community health services
• Secure landscaped central courtyard
• A four-bedroom self-contained staff accommodation complex
