Werris Creek Multipurpose Service

The Werris Creek Multipurpose project provided a new facility that included a range of community health services. Flexible consulting and examination rooms were created for the use by the GP, practice nurse and other visiting health professionals from the one building. The project also featured four low acuity hospital beds (including respite and palliative care), 10 high-care residential aged care beds, two low-care residential aged care beds and a level one first aid and treatment service.
The new facility offers Home and Community Care (HACC), aboriginal health services, aged day care centre, early childhood health clinic, telehealth facilities, clinical and operational support services and staff accommodation.
The Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said the community will benefit from the improved health services for many years to come.
“A lot of thought has gone into planning to ensure all patients and aged care residents can receive care in a functional, comfortable new space,” he said.
“Importantly, the (facility) has provided residential aged places, which means older people who have lived in the district for many years can stay in Werris Creek and receive care where they can be close to loved ones.”
Planix Projects provided Project Directorship for this project.
